Boulder Progressives Announces 2023 Candidate Endorsements
Boulder Progressives announces a vision for the future of Boulder, with endorsements for Boulder Mayor, Boulder City Council, and the Boulder Valley School District Board of Education. These endorsements together represent a stronger Boulder that puts people first, and that focuses on creating a safe, shared, and welcoming city.
“We are proud to endorse eight inspiring candidates for offices in City Council, Mayor, and School Board who are committed to a vision of a vibrant and connected community where everyone can thrive,” said Chelsea Castellano, Boulder Progressives board member.
The 2023 Boulder Progressives slate includes two mayoral candidates, Aaron Brockett and Nicole Speer, and urges people to vote for and rank these two candidates in whichever order they prefer. “Boulder has made incredible progress in the past few years. To keep that focus and momentum we need a strong mayor with a clear vision for the future,” said Eric Budd, Boulder Progressives board executive team member.
“Ranked Choice Voting means we don’t have to choose just one progressive candidate to support in this election. We can vote for both of these incredible, democratic leaders. We’re telling everyone to Vote Blue - Vote Two: Vote Aaron Brockett and Nicole Speer.”
For Boulder City Council, Boulder Progressives is endorsing two extraordinary candidates - Taishya Adams and Ryan Schuchard - whose vision for Boulder focuses on housing, climate action, and real improvements to public safety across the city.
“Adams and Schuchard have strong records of service and leadership in the community, from helping launch Boulder’s Police Oversight Panel to advocating for safe streets as a member of the Transportation Advisory Board,” said Claudia Hanson Thiem, Boulder Progressives board executive team member. “Our council candidates are advocates for a Boulder that prioritizes people and that ensures a healthy environment for generations to come.
